Calling all mermaids!
It's time to 'scale' up your wardrobe (sorry) with some fishy fashion! A side project of many designer's catwalk shows have been ocean themed this year. So much so that we suspect it may be on the horizon for SS17 too. Get in the mood for your summertime beach holiday (imaginary or not) with Treaty's trend forecasting Fashion Edit.

"Milan took a deep-sea dive for spring/summer 2016, drawing on everything from beach parties and pirates, to exotic encrustations, shell embellishment, fishy motifs and rope fastenings":

"The catwalk turned into a wavy sea inhabited by little cloth fishes. Models appeared from behind an old boat, wrapped in sophisticated and sheer fabrics, enriched by fur applications reminding of the seafoam, little embroideries on delicate tulle dresses and elaborated details resembling the natural elements of the sea in all its purity and magnificence."
Below: β CREATURES' AW 16/17 at Lisbon Fashion Week:
"With Beta fish (males) as primary inspiration due to their extreme beauty and the dichotomy of delicacy/violence, β CREATURES presents a range of wearable sculptures that reinterpret fins and coral reefs, presenting themselves almost as body armour."
"Inlaid with mother of pearl, coral, gemstones, crystals, freshwater pearls, and partially covered with gold leaf, cod, salmon and perch fish skin, each look simulates “human-fish” with fluttering tails in a cinematic environment."
We absolutely could not get enough of the Sophia Webster Spring 2016 New York. "
Fans of Webster already know what fun each new collection by her is likely to bring, but even they may be impressed by the breadth - or oceanic depth - of spring/summer 2016."
"SOPHIA WEBSTER's business nous may have earned her a BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund nomination, but her presentations are always much less serious. This season's kooky and creative set-up was a Mermaid Launderette, the posters outside informed us, but what could that possibly mean?"
"Turns out it's exactly as it sounds: a group (shoal?) of mermaids have laundered their tails - and hung them, of course, on a washing line across the space while they get their slender legs out for an hour or two and wear Sophia Webster shoes."
We hope you liked our title image this week! It's all thanks to a feature in Schon Magazine featuring it-girl extraordinaire, Karrueche - "Drawing inspiration from siamese fighting fish and the beauty of the subaqueous world, this high gloss, dramatic beauty editorial photographed by Brian Ziff for Schön! ... Under the creative direction of Mynxii White, Bette Splendens finds its beauty in the fluidity of fish and life under the sea.":
